Working as a group over the weekend was very beneficial, as we were able to collaborate on ideas, give feedback on asset building and make more progress on what our group position on estuaries, territory and intrusion was.
Our biggest break through today was producing interesting assets/rough sketches such as these below:
Throughout the day when Darryl and Matt played around in MotionBuilder with the particles, Joanna and I would give feedback as to what forms, colour combinations and angles/views we thought worked the best.
Looking at our MoCap data we all really liked the shapes Dean created with his arms and hand gestures. Therefore, Matt suggested we extended the hand markers by attaching a long, curved shape to it, which Darryl was able to develop in Maya and import into Motion Builder. Focusing on these movements alone, gave our animation a clear distinction between slow movements to fast, accelerated ‘pops’. Looking at Joanna’s watercolour storyboard, I feel these movements could create the visuals similar to that of her storyboard.
While they worked on the software, Joanna and I worked on clarifying our concepts, refining the content of our presentation, giving structure to how we would present and building a strong visual brand for our interim presentation.
